Bamboos are known as the fastest growing woody plant in the world. The growth rate ever recorded for bamboo plants was up to 121 centimetres (48 inches) in 24 hours period.

Bamboo has been extensively used for variety of purposes such as building materials, used as tools, decorative items, furniture, processed to become paper etc.
